Clean Start

On Tuesday, I called December a month of opportunity. You can choose to grab hold of a healthier lifestyle right now or ignore things until the New Year and waste this opportunity. On my Facebook page, I took things one step further. I asked people to take some measurements: body weight as well as chest, waist, and hip circumferences. I’m asking you to do the same thing today. You could also include a measurement of a particular spot that you’re troubled by such as your upper arm or above the knee.

Why? To measure it again on January . . .

It’s Showtime!

While I was in Richmond, VA, this past weekend, I was interviewed about my Real-Life Detox book on the local ABC affiliate WRIC. I had contacted Darrielle Snipes, the host of their morning show a few weeks ago and said I would be in the area; would she be interested in talking about detox and cleansing? She called me and said that would work. I had prepared by having my Toastmasters group ask me the toughest questions they could about detoxing. Poor Man’s Food

Once again the events in my life have led me to write this week’s messages. First, I watched a presentation on flavonoids and their role in health by two of the country’s leading experts. Why we don’t eat more vegetables, herbs, and fruits is beyond me. Maybe it’s because of what happened in a conversation I had with one of the aides who works with my father-in-law in assisted living.
