Vote!
I’ve spent several days this past week as a Michigan election inspector, and that’s what I’ll be doing today. I make sure each voter’s ID matches the state’s records — and believe me when I say no one who’s unregistered is able to vote. That’s a false issue. If you doubt me, volunteer to work elections in your state and you’ll quickly learn that it’s not going to happen.
So if you’re a U.S. citizen and you haven’t voted yet, make that item one on today’s to-do list. What if you’re not registered to vote? I can’t vouch for other states, but in Michigan you can register and vote today in person until 8 p.m. at the city or township clerk’s office.
Voting is the one right that makes all our other rights possible. Make sure your vote counts.
What are you prepared to do today?
